NEWPORT, R.I. - With the season approaching in just 69 days, we are extremely excited to announce the return of one of our most POPULAR Summer events - Newport Play Ball! The Newport Gulls are extremely excited to be hosting another Play Ball Newport event in conjunction with the Red Sox Foundation on Wednesday, July 1st from 10:30am-12:30pm at Cardines Field!

Each year that the Newport Gulls partner with the Red Sox Foundation for Play Ball Newport, it is another great opportunity for the Gulls to generate significant expansion and outreach efforts in all of the supportive initiatives that encompass the Gulls community. As the Newport Gulls are a Non-Profit organization, the Gulls share many of the same initiatives and goals of the Red Sox Foundation. Through the the Gulls' never-ending commitment to foster inclusivity, unity, and togetherness across our entire family, fanbases, and communities - no matter the backgrounds - it is of the utmost importance that the Newport Gulls act as the role models for the young generations who share the same overwhelming love for the game as everyone involved in our organization!

Play Ball Newport thrives off of the idea that baseball is for everyone and anyone, no matter the background. As the Newport Gulls have been able to extend their reach far beyond just Newport County for these popular camps, the Gulls have been able to touch the hearts of children all across Rhode Island. The Play Ball Newport event aims to reach and spark the love of the game for the boys and girls of families/communities in need; of veteran families; of low-income households; of boys and girls alike who share the most important thought of all: BASEBALL IS FUN!

Play Ball Newport offers children both educational and recreational experiences and provides an engaging experience led by volunteers from the Red Sox Foundation themselves, as well as the Gulls' "Major League Stars of Tomorrow!" Play Ball Newport provides quality instruction, guidance, and encouragement to benefit the boys and girls who are just picking up a baseball for the first, and the boys and girls who are looking to hone their baseball skills!
