HOST FAMILIES - OUR FOUNDATION
Our Host Family program is the foundation on which the Newport Gulls Family is built. Our Host Families have opened their homes to our players who have come from all over the country for the summer season in hopes of chasing their dreams of becoming Major League Baseball players. We are so thankful to have such wonderful families that give our players and coaches the same care and attention that they give their own children. The relationships that are forged between our players and their hosts are memorable, and will last a lifetime.
On behalf of the Newport Gulls organization, our players and their respective families, we thank all of the area residents who have opened their homes and brought the word "family" to the Newport Gulls Baseball Club.

"For over a decade our family has had the privilege of hosting players for the summer. It has been a rewarding experience over and over again! Each summer brings new personalities, new stories and new connections that often last beyond the season! We were thrilled to see our 2022 player, CJ Pittaro, play Spring training baseball in Arizona for the Oakland A’s a year ago. It’s neat to see them reach their goals- getting drafted and moving up the ranks of the MLB teams.
We’ve watched players develop discipline, resilience, and teamwork while balancing the demands of very competitive baseball schedule. Being a small part of that process, whether it’s sharing meals, offering encouragement after a tough game, celebrating their successes, baking their favorite cookies to bring on the bus trips to away games, has been fulfilling for our family.
As a host family, you are simply providing the player with a bed and other home basics. Players are very busy with their workouts, practices, games, working at the summer camp and building camaraderie with their teammates on “off” days. My husband and I feel a community spirit and a deeper connection while attending the Gull’s games due to hosting. It’s a family tradition I highly recommend!"
