NEWPORT, R.I. - The 2025 NECBL All-Star Game originally scheduled for Sunday, July 20th has been pushed to Monday, July 21st due to inclement weather.
The game will still take place at Maxfield Sports Complex in White River Junction, Vermont, home of the Upper Valley NightHawks. All events will begin at the originally scheduled time.
Newport will send eight players including four starters to this year's all-star game, the second-most by any team, just behind the Keene Swamp Bats who are sending nine representatives for the Northern Division.
Among the Gulls Southern Division starters is the game's starting arm in Finbar O'Brien (Gonzaga). He'll be joined by Randy Seymour (Michigan State) at shortstop and Matt Bolton (Binghamton) in center field to start the game. Michael Gupton (Memphis) will also start as the designated hitter in the Southern Division lineup.
Newport's manager Mike Coombs and the rest of the coaching staff will join the players in Vermont to lead the Southern Division squad.
The Gulls will also have a representative in the home run derby in the form of outfielder Matt Bolton. He's one of eleven participants in the contest and vying to become the first Gulls winner since Gabe Snyder did it at Cardines Field in 2016.

The Newport Gulls, members of the 13-team New England Collegiate Baseball League (NECBL), are a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, founded as the Rhode Island Gulls in 1998 in Cranston, R.I., before moving to Newport in 2001. In addition to recruiting, fielding, and developing a team of the nation's top collegiate baseball athletes and attracting 50,000 fans annually to Cardines Field, the predominantly volunteer organization strives to benefit the community via summer camps, reading programs, fundraisers, scholarships, and charitable donations – totaling over $1 million since 2001. The Gulls are eight-time champions of the NECBL – the winningest franchise in league history – and were ranked as the overall No. 1 summer collegiate baseball team in the country by Perfect Game USA in 2012.
